Afro Dance
Marking the arrival of most of our esteemed guests. To kick off the festivities and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere before the Open Roda, we have an electrifying Afro dance workshop. This workshop serves as a powerful catalyst, igniting the energy within us, and allowing us to connect with our ancestral roots. The vibrant energy permeates the entire Barracao, preparing our bodies, minds, and spirits before Berimbau starts playing .

With over 40 years of experience in his career, Mestre Chuvisquinho has become an influential figure in the Capoeira community, both nationally and internationally, inspiring and teaching others while promoting the rich cultural heritage of Capoeira. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, South America, Europe and other parts of the world teaching seminars, performing in shows, and coordinating performances. He is the idealizer and artistic director behind the EDB event. Since it’s launch in March 2007 the goal of the event is to bring Capoeiristas from across the globe to Boston once a year where the art of Capoeira will be projected in the best way possible, creating a space where young and old generations will come together, and share and celebrate Capoeira in its own pure essence.
